String Quartet No. 2

Alexander Borodin · 1881 · D major · 1455 bars · 1332 chords analysed
Written for Borodin's wife on their twentieth anniversary; the Nocturne became famous on its own.
A string quartet — two violins, viola and cello — is often called a conversation between four friends. With only four voices, every chord is easy to see and hear, which makes quartets a wonderful way to study harmony.
